Windows Phone has about 12M handsets in the wild, according to analysis completed by NextWeb. This compares to  218M iPhones and 300M+ Android devices. link

The average US smart phone has 41 apps, up from 31 last year according to Nielsen but time spent using these apps has held constant at about 40 minutes per day. 73% of those studied reported personal data collection is a concern. Also of note, Google operates 4 of the top 5 applications by usage. Facebook is the only exception. link
