Distimo has released their monthly report for October and have some interesting analysis. Although it’s a small sample, the pricing trends across stores are evident. Stores with smaller user bases will have higher prices.

This is supply and demand at its finest. In order to cover the software porting costs and justify the investment in a smaller audience, prices must increase.

Another factor may be the difference in billing infrastructure. Apple uses iTunes accounts while Android and Blackberry use carrier billing or credit card which will have lower conversion rate because the purchase process is protracted. One click shopping means higher revenues.

As Android grows in distribution, it will be interesting to see how prices on Android and Blackberry diverge.
